This UNITES Us is created, in part, to counter racism and oppression, and to amplify the voices of Black, Brown, Indigenous, and other People of Color and marginalized peoples.

As LGBTQ+ Pride is celebrated in countries throughout the world,  racism and oppression is an issue the event organizers have to deal with regularly.  They continually ask the questions: how do we identify this, and what are the potential solutions?

Additionally, it is still often unclear about what constitutes racism, unconscious bias, prejudice, micro-aggression, oppression, colorism, colonialism, and how these are all interconnected.
Racial justice issues are fundamental to InterPride, the international organization of Pride event organizers, with education and advocacy of racism-related issues and oppression being a 365-day effort.

This UNITES Us supports the InterPride Racism & Oppression Awareness Program (ROAP), which is created to elevate issues of race, racism and racial justice within the LGBTQ+ community, as well as all forms of oppression, including homophobia, transphobia, Islamophobia, classism, sexism, and xenophobia.
