Shape Divider - Style triangle
Resilience is woven into the fabric of the lives of people in local communities large and small, and often strengthened and bound through the tireless efforts of local Pride organizers and civic, business and nonprofit leaders.
Injustice and inequality are impacting LGBTQ+ communities throughout the world, with rising incidents of discrimination, hate crimes and violence threatening lives, wellbeing and livelihoods. Throughout the widening destruction of the COVID pandemic, local Pride organizations have been leading the way to protect their communities, and now are focusing on restoring and reviving with resilience reminiscent of the years of struggle, loss and grief through the AIDS epidemic. |

RESILIENT 2021
Throughout the year our programs, events, education, and messages will focus on the ways in which our community and movement can restore, rebuild, redeem, and revive one another. That as we reimagine a free and fearless future we are intentional about the resiliency we are weaving into our work. That as we tend to the issues impacting our LGBTQ communities around the world, we also remember to be healthy and whole. Brighter days lie ahead. Together in Pride, we are Resilient. - Fernando Lopez, President, San Diego Pride |
