The OUR PRIDE 2021 Video & Arts Fest showcases videos, photography & music submitted by YOUTH (Age 18 & Under) and those 18+PLUS (Age 18 & Older) with the 2021 theme focusing on how compassion unites people in the LGBTQ+ community.
OUR PRIDE 2021 Video & Arts Fest is a video competition and collaborative blended-learning educational program for YOUTH (Age 18 & Under) and those 18+PLUS (Age 18 & Older))to create short videos about current issues and significant LGBTQ+ people, places and events.
The participants work in teams or solo to create video entries running 1 to 5 minutes in one of seven genres, including News Story, Short Documentary, Creative Fiction, Music Video, Animated Short, PSA or TikTok, and incorporating original music, poetry and other creative content. |
Youth under age 18 work with mentors and adult coaches (teachers/parents), while those age 18 & over participate independently, either solo or in teams. Participants connect locally and around the world, as they gain a heightened awareness of the sometimes dramatically different LGBTQ+ social and cultural environments.
Through research, collaboration and production, the program creates a new awareness and understanding of history, culture and issues, while directly connecting youth with mentors and elders in a cross-generation learning and personal growth experience. |
