Carmen Prins

South Africa

She/Her

Carmen Prins is a multidisciplinary creative, healer, and Queer radio presenter whose work is rooted in transformation, ancestral healing, and creative liberation.

Through art, poetry, photography, and storytelling, she uses creativity as a tool for healing, community upliftment, and youth empowerment. Her radio work provides a safe space for Queer voices and explores LGBTQIA+ experiences and the breaking of stigmas across Africa.

Carmen is also part of Pan-African creative and activist networks working to support young creative talent across the continent. Her journey bridges art and activism, nature and healing, and invites others to reclaim their voices and reimagine what it means to live in truth.

Steps to Liberation
Free of Judgement

Carmen Prins tells the story of a brown queer woman from South Africa’s Franschhoek valley who spent much of her life carrying trauma, silence, judgment, and expectations imposed by others.

After leaving a two-decade career in banking, she began a deeply personal journey of healing through art, spirituality, reflection, and reconnecting with her own voice.

Through the creation of Soulversity Co-Create Network with her daughter, Carmen is transforming personal pain into art, community, and a vision of freedom for others.
