OUR PRIDE
Arts, advocacy, and partnership within the global Pride movement
Rainbow Advocacy’s work is rooted in the modern LGBTQ+ Pride movement and the belief that Pride is more than a single moment of celebration. It is collective memory, cultural expression, and an ongoing commitment to dignity and human rights.
Through OUR PRIDE, we engage Pride not as an annual event, but as a global, interconnected movement shaped by culture, courage, and community responsibility.

Pride as Collective Action
Pride emerged from resistance. Long before parades became festivals, visibility itself was an act of courage.
Rainbow Advocacy carries forward this understanding of Pride through collective action that links history, creative expression, and human rights across generations and borders. Our work honors the origins of Pride while supporting how it continues to evolve in diverse cultural and political contexts around the world.
Arts, Advocacy & Community
OUR PRIDE is Rainbow Advocacy’s arts and advocacy platform dedicated to elevating LGBTQ+ voices through storytelling, creative work, and collaborative projects connected to Pride communities.
Through OUR PRIDE, we have:
-
Partnered with Pride organizations and civic institutions
-
Produced arts installations and cultural programs tied to Pride milestones
-
Supported youth media, storytelling, and intergenerational dialogue
-
Created platforms for reflection alongside celebration
Ourpride.org serves as a shared space for this work—intentionally named to reflect collective ownership, global belonging, and Pride as a lived, ongoing movement.
A Legacy Shaped by Leadership
Rainbow Advocacy was inspired by the leadership of Rev. Troy Perry—founder of Metropolitan Community Churches and a central figure in the early Pride movement—whose message “We’re not afraid anymore” helped transform fear into collective action.
That legacy is not preserved as history alone. It is carried forward through work that centers courage, inclusion, and the responsibility that comes with visibility.
Partnership Within the Global Pride Movement
Rainbow Advocacy is a proud member of InterPride and USA Prides.
We see Pride organizations as essential partners in advancing human rights, cultural understanding, and community resilience. Our work is designed to complement—not compete with—Pride organizers by offering creative platforms, educational resources, and collaborative projects that deepen impact beyond a single event or season.
We are particularly interested in partnerships that:
-
Integrate arts, education, and storytelling into Pride programming
-
Support youth, global, and underrepresented voices
-
Create space for reflection alongside celebration
-
Strengthen cross-border and inter-Pride collaboration
Looking Forward
As Pride continues to grow and adapt in an increasingly complex world, Rainbow Advocacy is committed to contributing work that is thoughtful, collaborative, and grounded in human rights principles.
Through OUR PRIDE, we invite Pride organizations, artists, and partners to explore what it means to honor the past, engage the present, and shape the future of Pride together.
Pride is not a moment. It is a movement—and movements are sustained through shared work.
Partnership Invitation
Rainbow Advocacy welcomes collaboration with Pride organizations, cultural producers, and community leaders who are exploring how Pride can deepen its impact through arts, education, and shared storytelling. Through OUR PRIDE, we partner with Pride communities to develop creative programs, cultural resources, and reflective spaces that complement celebration while strengthening global solidarity. We are especially interested in partnerships that center inclusion, youth voices, cross-border exchange, and the long-term stewardship of Pride’s history and meaning.
OUR PRIDE also provides the cultural and community foundation for long-term initiatives such as Flag50, which uses arts and education to explore Pride’s history, meaning, and global impact.
