Hon. John J. Duran

Hon. John J. Duran is an attorney, former Mayor of West Hollywood, and former President of Equality California, one of the nation’s largest LGBTQ+ civil rights organizations. For decades, he has advanced equality through public service, landmark legal advocacy, and leadership with organizations including Lambda Legal, the ACLU, and the National LGBTQ Task Force. Openly living with HIV, John has dedicated his life to defending human rights, promoting justice, and inspiring future generations to lead with courage, compassion, and conviction.
