Prof MsC Benedito Leite de Souza Júnior (Irmão Oscar Romero, AF) Episcopal Church

Professor Benedito Souza is a professor, researcher, and human rights activist, with notable work in defending the LGBTQIAPN+ population in Brazil’s Northeast. He holds a Master’s degree in Contemporary Education and a degree in Languages (Portuguese and English). He is a former Benedictine monk of the Roman Catholic Church and is currently a Celtic monk in the Anamchara Fellowship, affiliated with the Episcopal tradition of the United States.

He serves as a state councilor for LGBTQIAPN+ rights in Pernambuco and participates in strategic spaces for political and institutional advocacy. He is currently a contributing member of the Sexual and Gender Diversity Commission of the Brazilian Bar Association – Pernambuco Section (OAB-PE).
