Dante Alencastre
Dante Alencastre is a Los Angeles–based filmmaker, artist, and cultural organizer whose work uses storytelling as a tool for social change. He centers LGBTQ+, immigrant, and HIV-affected communities, preserving marginalized histories and amplifying voices often excluded from dominant narratives. He is the director and producer of AIDS Diva: The Legend of Connie Norman, a documentary about a pioneering transgender AIDS activist and ACT UP/LA spokesperson. Through film screenings and public programs, he creates spaces for dialogue, community connection, and collective action around public health and social justice.
