Wen Tong-Everitt (they/he) is a queer Chinese-American filmmaker, storyboard artist, and animator from Dallas,Texas. They were raised watching Chinese, Japanese, and American cartoons, shaping their artistic voice and sense of humor. Now they attend ArtCenter College of Design in California to pursue storyboarding and hone their storytelling abilities, utilizing their flair for the dramatic! | Their hope is to create art that gives others a look into someone else's world while uplifting community, diversity, queer joy, and decolonization. All of these aspects are rooted in love which is an important part of Wen's artistic philosophy. Meat Cute is a reminder that love is a lot, but it's important to have fun and be a little unserious. All in all, they hope you enjoy Meat Cute! For anime lovers especially, they encourage you to take screenshots and make memes to your hearts content <3 |
Head over heels in love, a naive butcher must prove that he exists to the boy from the tailor shop, but how? An inconvenient rip of his apron provides the apprentice with the perfect opportunity. The Butcher’s attempts get bigger, bolder, and more misguided as our protagonist busts his chops to prove that his romancing skills are as sharp as his knives. Eventually the Butcher miraculously finds that he was romancing the wrong tailor. |
